Aigues-Mortes is fully committed to the development of cycle tourism, with routes such as the ViaRhôna and La Méditerranée à vélo crossing the destination and showcasing its natural landscapes and exceptional heritage.
Awarded the Accueil Vélo label since 2020, the Aigues-Mortes Tourist Office guarantees a tailored welcome and dedicated services to make your cycling stay easier and to support you throughout your journey.
Accueil vélo : a benchmark label for cycling travel
Created in 2008 by the France Vélo Tourisme association, the national label Accueil Vélo distinguishes service providers offering high-quality welcome and services tailored to cyclists. Each category of professional follows a specific set of standards ensuring services adapted to the needs of cycle tourists.
The label can be awarded to cycle hire and repair shops, visitor attractions and leisure sites, accommodation providers, restaurants, river ports, as well as tourist offices.
To be eligible, each establishment must be located in close proximity to a signposted cycling route that is part of a departmental, regional and/or national cycling network plan.
A network serving cyclists and professionals
For cyclists
Accueil Vélo establishments guarantee easy access by bicycle, a personalised welcome, and tailored advice (route ideas, weather information, maps and brochures). They also provide dedicated facilities : secure bicycle storage, bike parking, toilets, cleaning equipment, and repair kits.
For professionals
Joining the Accueil Vélo network increases visibility in France and internationally through platforms such as France Vélo Tourisme, as well as through communication channels from the Tourist Office, Gard Tourisme, and the Region.
Promotion is also ensured via cycling guidebooks, trade fairs, and partners such as SNCF Train & Vélo.
It also offers the opportunity to join a national network of committed professionals, benefit from signage tools such as the welcome plaque, and strengthen visibility among specialised tour operators.
