Accessibility : non-compliant

The Aigues-Mortes Tourist Office is committed to making its website accessible to all users, regardless of their equipment, browsing methods or any disabilities they may have, in accordance with Article 47 of French Law No. 2005-102 of 11 February 2005 on equal rights and opportunities for people with disabilities.

This page presents the current accessibility status of the website, the measures implemented or underway, as well as the contact details to use if you experience difficulty accessing any content or service.

Compliance status

The Aigues-Mortes Tourist Office website is declared non-compliant with the General Accessibility Improvement Guidelines (RGAA, Version 4.1).

At present :

  • No full accessibility audit, carried out in accordance with the official RGAA methodology, has yet been conducted.
  • In the absence of such an audit, we cannot publish a precise compliance rate.
  • For the sake of transparency, the website is therefore considered non-compliant pending completion of this audit.

An active accessibility improvement process is underway to gradually make the website more accessible to all users.

What is digital accessibility ?

On the Aigues-Mortes Tourist Office website, our objective is simple: to enable everyone to access the content and services provided, including people who use assistive technologies or have specific needs.

In practical terms, an accessible website allows you to :

  • Navigate using a screen reader or a Braille display, particularly for people who are blind or visually impaired.
  • Adapt the display to your needs : enlarge text, change colours, improve contrast or customise the layout to make reading easier.
  • Navigate without using a mouse, particularly by using a keyboard or other adapted devices.

Digital accessibility is not an optional extra : it is a commitment to ensuring that everyone can use our website and access information under the best possible conditions.

Accessibility improvement approach and actions

The Aigues-Mortes Tourist Office has initiated a structured approach to progressively improve the accessibility of its website :

  • Progressive review of content (text, images, links, PDF documents, etc.) by the Tourist Office team, in order to make it more accessible.
  • An accessibility audit covering both technical and functional aspects, carried out by a specialised service provider and based on a representative sample of pages and features.
  • Implementation of a prioritised action plan based on the audit findings, making it possible to identify :

- the technical corrections required (code, templates, modules) ;
- the necessary improvements to usability and navigation ;
- the best practices to adopt when creating new content.

  • Ongoing collaboration with our web agency to implement the necessary corrections and improvements.
  • Training and skills development for internal teams (writing, content integration and visual creation) in order to progressively produce accessible content.

Potentially inaccessible content

Pending completion of the full audit, some elements of the website may present access difficulties for certain users. By way of indication, the main elements potentially concerned include :

  • Images without suitable alternative text.
  • PDF documents or other downloadable files (brochures, guides, forms, etc.) that may not be fully structured for screen readers.
  • Colour contrasts that may be insufficient for certain texts, buttons or interface elements.
  • Keyboard navigation that may be limited on certain menus or interactive components.
  • Link or button labels that may sometimes be unclear when viewed out of context (for example : “Read more”).
  • Heading hierarchy that could be improved on certain pages, which may make heading-based navigation more difficult for users of assistive technologies.

These elements will be analysed as part of the accessibility audit and will be progressively corrected or improved based on its findings.

Continuous improvement of accessibility

Our objective is to make the Aigues-Mortes Tourist Office website :

  • easier to navigate ;
  • easier to read ;
  • more accessible and inclusive for all audiences (residents, visitors, professionals, partners and all other users).

Whenever the website undergoes a major change (new template, new section, redesign, etc.), accessibility considerations will be taken into account as early as possible in technical, graphic and editorial decisions.
