Every year in April, Aigues-Mortes celebrates the arrival of sunny days with “Spring in Camargue”, a festive and family-friendly weekend at the heart of local traditions. Between transhumance, roussataïo, children’s activities, and culinary discoveries, the town comes alive in a friendly atmosphere.

The Program of Spring in Camargue

Every year in April, Aigues-Mortes celebrates the renewal of the season with a festive, friendly, and discovery-filled weekend. A warm, family-oriented event highlighting Camargue traditions, nature, and sharing.

For two days, the town centre comes alive with a varied program combining musical entertainment, children’s games, workshops, exhibitions, and tastings : 

  • Sheep transhumance through the streets of the town
  • Roussataïo, release of mares accompanied by their foals
  • Demonstration of Provençal dances
  • Educational mini-farm for the little ones
  • Workshops and treasure hunts in the town
  • Art and local craftsmanship exhibitions
  • Wine tasting of AOP Sable de Camargue
  • Musical entertainment

A unique event to celebrate spring in the heart of the Camargue, combining living traditions, family activities, and a festive atmosphere. An invitation to experience Aigues-Mortes differently, between nature, culture, and the joy of gathering together.
