    Every December, Aigues-Mortes adorns itself with lights and celebrates the holiday season in true Camargue style, blending local traditions, winter magic, and a festive atmosphere. A magical event for both young and old, perfect to enjoy with family or friends.

    For several days, the city comes alive with a rich and original program combining shows, Camargue traditions, children's activities, and moments of sharing in the heart of the medieval town :

    • Santa Claus' arrival by carriage
    • The transhumance of 300 sheep through the city streets
    • Roussataïo, the release of mares with their foals
    • Abrivado, bandido, and Peña de Noël, a true Camargue touch
    • Pumptrack, mini-farm, and creative workshops for the little ones
    • Light mapping on the ramparts : a magical visual fresco at dusk
    • Christmas fireworks to conclude the festivities in beauty
    • Musical entertainment and a warm ambiance throughout the town

    All parking areas in Aigues-Mortes remain accessible throughout the festivities.

    ANIMALS

    Pets are allowed during the festival. However, due to large crowds, we recommend staying vigilant, as the noise and bustle may stress animals and make them less visible to other visitors.

    WEATHER

    All events will go ahead regardless of weather conditions.
    Only a weather alert issued by Météo France or severe weather may lead to the cancellation of certain festivities.
