Every December, Aigues-Mortes lights up and offers an enchanting programme combining shows, activities for children and a warm atmosphere. A unique event where local traditions and winter magic meet, creating a festive moment to enjoy with family in the heart of the ramparts.

Next Christmas in the Camargue : December 2026

Every December, Aigues-Mortes is adorned with lights and celebrates the end-of-year holiday season in true Camargue style.

For several days, the medieval town comes alive with a program combining shows, local traditions, winter magic, activities for children, and moments of sharing in a warm and festive atmosphere.

    Throughout the festivities :

    • Musical entertainment and shows
    • Santa’s Farm
    • Games and adventures for children : treasure hunts, adventure courses and zip line, interactive wall, giant snakes and ladders game, inflatable castle
    • Screenings at the Marcel Pagnol municipal cinema

    ► Highlights :

    • Roussataïo : release of mares accompanied by their foals
    • Abrivados et Bandidos : bulls are led to the plan and then brought back to the pastures, escorted by mounted gardians.
    • Gospel concert : Chapelle des Pénitents Blancs (free entry)
    • Light mapping : visual fresco projected onto the ramparts at nightfall

    ► Magical closing :

    The New Year’s Eve fireworks, launched from the South Rampart, light up the sky over Aigues-Mortes for a spectacular finale.

    Treasure hunts

    Treasure hunts are available for children aged 5 to 12. Priced at €3 per booklet, each trail lasts approximately 1 hour 30 to 2 hours (French only).
