The Capuchin Chapel

Completed in 1677, the Capuchin Chapel is located on Place Saint-Louis, in the heart of Aigues-Mortes. Originally part of a convent, it has served several different purposes over the centuries. After the French Revolution, it was used as a warehouse before being converted into a café and later into a public market hall.

Each chapter in its history reflects the evolution of the town and the needs of its inhabitants. Today, this historic building has taken on a new role as a venue for temporary exhibitions, regularly hosting cultural and artistic events.
