Aigues-Mortes - Sauniers

La Chapelle des Capucins

The Capucins chapel, completed in 1677, is located on the Place Saint-Louis in Aigues-Mortes. Originally a convent, the chapel has changed vocation several times over the centuries. After the French Revolution, it was used as a warehouse, before being transformed into a café and then a public market.

Each stage in its history reflects the evolution of the town and the needs of its inhabitants. Today, this historic site has been converted into a space dedicated to temporary exhibitions, hosting cultural and artistic events.
