The Aigues-Mortes Filming Office

(Bureau d'Accueil des Tournages d'Aigues-Mortes - BATAM).

Faced with a steady increase in requests for authorization to film in Aigues-Mortes public spaces, in January 2024 the City set up a Bureau d'Accueil des Tournages (BATAM). The aim of this office is to promote Aigues-Mortes as a prime location for film productions, documentaries, commercials, music videos shoots, etc.

Any use of public space for filming, television broadcasts, reports, documentaries or photo shoots requires prior authorization from the Aigues-Mortes Filming Office (BATAM).

Filming office primary mission : 

• Ensure a fluid and efficient link between production managers, location managers and the town of Aigues-Mortes' public departments, so that audiovisual projects (location scouting, filming, etc.) can be accommodated while respecting local residents and professionals.
• Examine filming application files and forward eligible projects to elected representatives for speedy approval, in line with the requirements of this business sector.

OBJECTIVES :

• To make Aigues-Mortes a quality filming location that is well adapted, responsible and sustainable.
• Promote the region's heritage, identity, diversity and richness, with its unique features unrivalled elsewhere.
• Boost the region's economy by mobilizing its vital forces around a wide range of themes and activities.
• To help people discover the film industry's trades and training courses, and to develop the jobs associated with these trades.
• Promote the City's potential at trade fairs.
• Take advantage of the audiovisual dynamic in the region, particularly on the outskirts of Montpellier, to raise the city's notoriety and profile.

• Actors and partners from the image and audiovisual sectors, other local authorities and the CNC (Centre Nationale du cinéma et de l'image animée).
• Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole Filming Office.
• The regional branch of the film commission (Occitanie Films, in Montpellier).
• Local associated agents.
• Service providers, suppliers, specialized audiovisual companies.
  Local tourism players (private and public): accommodation, catering, transport, Gard Tourisme, Pics Studios, TF1, France Télévision, etc.
• Elite tourist office ambassadors.
• Trades people (electricians, carpenters…).
