Going to the market

Head for the shaded aisles of the market on Wednesday and Sunday mornings – the perfect place to taste local products from Camargue.

From the moment you arrive, you will be caught up in enticing aromas and bright colours: cured meats, Aigues-Mortes fougasse, fresh fruit and vegetables … the market is more than a place to buy something, fill up your bread basket to prepare a hearty meal, and take away gourmet or decorative gifts.

The market is also a place for encounters, where you can talk to locals who will be proud to show off their town and their region. It is a time for real conviviqlity.
