The best-known Vins des Sables de Camargue are pleasant rosés with a very light color. They are available in "rosé", "gris" and "gris de gris".
Their pale salmon color, elegance on the palate and freshness reflect the terroir perfectly.
Mainly made from Grenache grapes, these fruity wines are a delight with summer meals. They are best served chilled, with grilled meats, fresh fish and summer salads.
Camargue's vineyards are planted on ancient coastal strips of sandy soil. Vines have been cultivated in the Sable de Camargue for a very long time. But in the 19th century, the phylloxera epidemic that destroyed the Languedoc vineyards was halted by this sandy terroir, which resisted the devastating insect. As a result, the vineyard was able to develop.
