The photography workshops “Horses in the Salt Marshes” invite you to photograph the magnificent white Camargue horses roaming freely amid the landscapes of the Salins du Midi salt marshes. Galloping through the water or along the paths, they create spectacular scenes against a vast backdrop of salt as far as the eye can see. Depending on the season and weather conditions, the salt marshes may also take on pink hues, creating unique atmospheres. As the landscape is constantly changing, every session holds its own surprises!
Guided by gardians (traditional Camargue cowboys) on horseback, the horses are positioned according to the photographers’ instructions to ensure ideal distances and lighting. Several passes are made from the same position before changing angles and scenes: horses galloping through the water, along dusty paths, with salt dunes in the background, or photographed from ground level or head-on. A wonderful opportunity to experiment with different compositions and capture a wide variety of images in a remarkable natural setting!
